Cookies policy

1. Introduction

1.1 This policy explains which cookies flexi.ink uses, what they do, how long they last and how you can control them.

1.2 Necessary cookies are always on. Whether Analytics and Marketing are on before you choose depends on where you visit from (see section 3).

2. About cookies

2.1 A cookie is a small file with an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that a web server sends to your browser. The browser stores it and sends it back to the server each time it requests a page.

2.2 Cookies are either "session" or "persistent" cookies. A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays until its expiry date, unless you delete it earlier.

2.3 Cookies do not usually contain information that identifies you, but personal information we store about you may be linked to information stored in and obtained from cookies.

2.4 Cookies can be used to recognise a visitor who returns to a website and to follow a visitor from page to page.

2.5 First-party cookies are set by flexi.ink. Third-party cookies are set by another company's domain, for example google.com, when its service runs on our pages.

3. How we ask for your consent

3.1 We look up the country of your IP address in a copy of the DB-IP country database kept on our server; your address is not sent to DB-IP. If you visit from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or the database does not know your address, you see the cookie banner described in 3.2. Everywhere else you see the notice described in 3.3. IP Geolocation by DB-IP.

3.2 The cookie banner at the bottom of the page shows switches for Necessary (always on), Analytics and Marketing, and three buttons: "Allow all", "Allow selection" (allows only the categories you switched on) and "Deny". "Show details" opens a window that describes each category and lists its cookies. Until you choose, Analytics and Marketing are off. You can use the site without answering.

3.3 The notice at the bottom of the page says that we use cookies for analytics, session recordings and advertising audiences. Analytics is on from your first visit. Marketing is on too, unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal: we treat it as a request to turn Marketing off. "OK" hides the notice for 6 months with the cc_notice cookie and records no new choice; if you made a choice before, "OK" keeps it, with Marketing off if your browser sends Global Privacy Control. "Cookie settings" opens the window described in 3.2, where you can switch either category off or click "Deny".

3.4 We keep your choice for 6 months in the cc_cookie cookie. After that, or when we change this policy in a way that needs a new choice from you, we ask again. We pass your choice, or until then the default for your region, to Google through its consent mode. We do not ask for consent to Necessary cookies, because the site and its forms need them to work.

3.5 While Analytics is off, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are not loaded.

4. Necessary cookies

4.1 These cookies are always on.

4.2 Google reCAPTCHA protects our contact forms from spam. It loads when you start filling in a form, and on pages with a contact form it loads with the page. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

4.3 The Calendly "Book a call with us" button appears on every page. Before you click it, only Calendly's script and styles load, and the only cookie is __cf_bm above. If you open the scheduler, Calendly's privacy notice applies: https://calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice.

5. Analytics cookies

5.1 These cookies are set while Analytics is on: in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland after you allow it, everywhere else from your first visit until you turn it off. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see which pages people visit, where they come from and how they move around the site. Clarity also records sessions, so we can see how visitors scroll and click. Recordings do not include what you type into form fields: Clarity masks them. We use these reports to improve the site.

6. Marketing

6.1 Marketing lets ad platforms store advertising cookies, receive data about your visit for online advertising and use it for personalised ads. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland this is on only after you allow Marketing. Everywhere else it is on until you turn Marketing off, or off from the start if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

6.2 Platforms we use: Google and LinkedIn. Marketing controls three of Google's consent signals: ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. When they are on, Google Analytics may add your visit to remarketing audiences and to reports on visitors' age and interests, and may send Google an email address, phone number or postal address you enter on the site, hashed, as a code Google compares with the data of its accounts. How Google uses data from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. LinkedIn: when Marketing is on, the LinkedIn Insight Tag loads and tells LinkedIn which of our pages you visit, so LinkedIn can add you to audiences we may later show our LinkedIn adverts to, and report on them in aggregate. LinkedIn matches the visit to a LinkedIn account through its own cookies. 6.3 flexi.ink sets no marketing cookies of its own. The LinkedIn Insight Tag is our only advertising pixel; its cookies are listed below, most of them on LinkedIn's domains. When you turn Marketing off, the page reloads, the tag no longer loads and LinkedIn's cookies on flexi.ink are deleted; the ones on LinkedIn's domains can only be removed in your browser or on LinkedIn.

7. Embedded videos

7.1 YouTube videos on our pages use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube sets no cookies before you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube may store cookies under Google's privacy policy.

8. Changing or withdrawing your consent

8.1 You can change your choice or withdraw consent at any time: click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page, then switch categories on or off and click "Allow selection", or click "Allow all" or "Deny".

8.2 When you deny Analytics, with "Deny" or by saving your selection with Analytics off, we stop using analytics cookies from that moment and delete the ones stored on flexi.ink (_ga, _ga_87XGK3BNLQ, _clck, _clsk). Cookies that other companies keep on their own domains stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them (see section 9).

9. Blocking and deleting cookies in your browser

9.1 Most browsers let you block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, and delete cookies already stored. The settings are usually under Privacy or Privacy and security; your browser's help pages have the exact steps.

9.2 If you block all cookies, our contact forms will not work, because they need the session and form security cookies.
